Transforming Lives Through Skills, Livelihoods, Education & CSR

Since 2018, SICD has been working at the grassroots level to empower communities through skill development, livelihood generation, rural empowerment, education support, and CSR-led community initiatives.

What began as a small effort has today grown into a multi-state impact movement reaching thousands of workers, youth, and rural families across India.

Over the years, SICD has successfully trained and empowered 24,872+ beneficiaries across 10 states, supporting the national vision of Skill India, Make in India, rural development, worker welfare, and sustainable livelihoods.

Our journey is not just about numbers β€” it is about creating opportunities, restoring dignity, strengthening communities, and building a skilled India from the ground up.

🌱 2018–19 | Laying the Foundation

SICD began its mission by implementing skill development programs under PMKVY, PWD, and RPL initiatives across multiple states.

Key Impact:

  • Trained 7,800+ construction workers and youth across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, and West Bengal.

  • Conducted large-scale Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) certification programs for experienced workers.

  • Delivered practical, job-oriented training focused on employability and livelihood generation.

  • Created awareness about skill certification and worker dignity in the unorganized sector.

This phase laid the foundation for SICD’s commitment toward inclusive growth and workforce empowerment.

πŸš€ 2019–20 | Expanding Reach Through Strong Partnerships

With growing trust and partnerships, SICD expanded its operations through collaborations with ACIL CSR, MOHUA, and Hitachi CSR.

Key Impact:

  • Trained 6,500+ beneficiaries across Punjab, Haryana, and Maharashtra.

  • Introduced onsite training models (10–30 days) directly at construction sites.

  • Enabled workers to learn while earning, ensuring immediate livelihood opportunities.

  • Strengthened industry participation in skill development initiatives.

This year marked a major step toward scalable and industry-linked skilling solutions.

🏑 2020–21 | Building Communities, Brick by Brick

Through the PNB Housing CSR Initiative, SICD deepened its engagement with rural and construction communities.

Key Impact:

  • Trained 1,450+ beneficiaries across Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

  • Focused on construction, housing, and infrastructure-related skill development.

  • Supported rural workers with practical training for long-term livelihood opportunities.

  • Contributed toward building stronger and more resilient communities.

Even during challenging times, SICD continued creating opportunities where they were needed the most.

πŸ”¨ 2021–22 | Strengthening Rural Livelihoods

SICD launched the PMAY-G Rural Mason Training Program in Maharashtra to support rural housing and employment generation.

Key Impact:

  • Trained 750 rural masons through intensive 45-day training programs.

  • Equipped rural youth with employable masonry skills and practical field exposure.

  • Contributed to India’s rural housing mission under PMAY-G.

  • Helped create a skilled workforce capable of supporting village infrastructure development.

This initiative empowered rural youth with both skills and self-confidence.

🌟 2022–23 | Expanding Horizons

This year marked diversification into both centre-based and onsite skill development programs.

Key Impact:

  • Trained 3,300+ beneficiaries under MPJUM and NIPUN Projects across Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Delhi.

  • Focused on employability enhancement for both urban and rural youth.

  • Strengthened pathways from skill training to employment opportunities.

  • Expanded outreach to underserved communities and workers.

SICD continued to evolve into a trusted implementation partner for large-scale development programs.

🧱 2023–24 | Multi-Sector Skill Development

Under PMAY-G and SANKALP initiatives, SICD expanded its impact across Uttar Pradesh.

Key Impact:

  • Trained 1,272 beneficiaries in rural masonry and multi-job role skilling.

  • Promoted diversified livelihood opportunities for rural communities.

  • Strengthened skill-to-employment linkages for sustainable income generation.

  • Focused on empowering workers with practical, industry-relevant capabilities.

This year reinforced SICD’s commitment toward inclusive and sustainable development.

Under the EPEP Program, SICD expanded practical construction skill training across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

Key Impact:

  • Trained 2,300 construction workers through short-term onsite practical training modules.

  • Focused on hands-on learning aligned with current industry needs.

  • Improved worker productivity, safety awareness, and employability.

  • Promoted dignity and professionalism within the construction workforce.

SICD continued building a future-ready workforce through accessible and practical skilling models.

πŸ”— 2025–26 (Ongoing) | Towards Sustainable Livelihoods & Community Empowerment

Today, SICD continues to create impact through skill development, CSR initiatives, worker welfare programs, rural development, and education support activities.

RCCD CSR Initiative – West Bengal

  • Successfully trained 400 construction workers under the RCCD CSR Program.

  • Focused on practical construction skills and livelihood enhancement.

CREDAI CSR Onsite Training – Gurugram, Haryana

  • Completed onsite training for 300 construction workers through CSR-supported initiatives.

  • Promoted skill enhancement directly at worksites for better productivity and employability.

UPBOCW Training Program – Uttar Pradesh

SICD is currently implementing the Uttar Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers (UPBOCW) onsite training program across Uttar Pradesh.

Key Impact:

  • Trained 600 construction workers through 15-day onsite training programs.

  • Beneficiaries receive:

    • Skill Training

    • Government Certification

    • Labour Card Benefits

  • Supporting worker welfare, social security, and livelihood opportunities for construction workers.

This initiative is helping workers gain recognition, access government benefits, and secure long-term livelihood opportunities.

PMAY-G Rural Mason Program – Maharashtra

  • Continuing masonry skill training programs for rural youth in Maharashtra.

  • Creating employment opportunities in rural areas.

  • Strengthening the availability of skilled masons for rural housing development.

Beyond skilling, SICD actively works toward education support, youth empowerment, and community development through CSR partnerships and social initiatives.

Fujifilm Sonosite CSR Initiative – Gurugram, Haryana

A CSR initiative by Fujifilm Sonosite India Pvt. Ltd., implemented by Social Initiative for Community Development (SICD) at Government Senior Secondary School, Kherla, Gurugram (Haryana).

Key Impact:

  • Distributed 200 branded school bags and water bottles to students from Classes 9th to 12th.

  • Supported students ahead of the new academic session.

  • Encouraged education, student motivation, and community participation.

  • Strengthened SICD’s commitment toward education, youth empowerment, and rural community development.
