Be Who You Needed When You Were Younger: Young Adults in Recovery Thirsty for Connection

While we are all living in a world that has never been
more ‘technology connected,’ we, as human and soulful beings, have never been
more disconnected from each other.  Young adults in our culture today are
turning to one of the strongest and most deadly ways of disconnecting: alcohol
and drugs.

For many, using has turned into a false way of ‘being
connected to peer groups’ and based on the deep rooted fears of being judged,
left out, or boring. Addiction can begin and stem from pain, abuse, neglect,
shame, fear, sorrow, and viewing vulnerability as ultimate humiliation.

With healthy, safe, boundaries & connections,
Recovery is possible. Objectives will be covered identifying how young adults
of today are in a league of their own. For many who have struggled with
remaining clean, one large factor a person may be missing is a connection to
their deeper self & spirituality.
